Elizabeth is unable to remember a time when she did not draw, paint, stitch or make things.  Encouraged by her mother and grandmother, making garments became an absorbing hobby, ranging from early attempts to make school uniforms for dolls and teddy bears, to tailoring an overcoat for her husband Don.
She trained as an art teacher but after one year in secondary schools she spent the next 35 years teaching in various primary schools.
Following early retirement in 2005, Elizabeth began to study on the City and Guilds Stitched Textiles course, gaining her Diploma in 2009.  In July 2009 Elizabeth's work was submitted for consideration for the City and Guilds Gold medal.
In February 2010 Elizabeth joined the 02 Textile group and is now aiming to continue to develop knowledge and skills.
